About the project
The SEXTIL project aims at developing a sexing kit suited to different structures: for laboratories, as well as medium and large production companies. In the framework of the project, the kit is validated on most domestic tilapia strains (Bouaké, Manzala, GIFT ..) and on other farmed tilapia species (blue tilapia, Mozambique tilapia, red tilapia strains). A market study is also being carried out to analyze the potential of these sexing kits (in Africa, Asia and Latin America) and to enable a French company (start-up) to market these kits at a global scale.
