Normandie Fraîcheur Mer is a quality organisation for fishermen, wholesalers and traders from the Normandy region. Its goal is to promote the quality and the durability of the fisheries products.
Normandie Fraîcheur Mer
Created in 1998, Normandie Fraîcheur Mer federates since 2017 all the professional structures of the Normandy fishing industry:
- The Normandy Regional Maritime Fisheries Committee, CRPM Normandy
- L’organisation des Pêcheurs Normands, OPN, (Normandy Fishermen’s Organization)
- The FROM NORD
NFM supports professionals on a daily basis in order to improve the quality of the products unloaded. To this end, NFM carries out work on the quality and freshness of fishery products and the means of preserving them: handling, hygiene, packaging, preservation, cold chain, etc. It also undertakes to distribute a guide to good fishing practices. NFM also conducts studies for a regional valorisation of the by-products generated by the regional fishing industry. In charge of fisheries management for several decades, the Comité Régional des Pêches Maritimes de Basse-Normandie (CRPM-BN) has set itself the objective of gaining recognition for the sustainability of regional fisheries. NFM also trains pupils and students, future fishermen and professional fishermen on the implementation of good fishing practices and the marketing of fisheries products.
