The COPALIS fishery products processing cooperative, founded in 1960 in Boulogne-sur-Mer, has the mission of enhancing and adding value to the by-products generated by the fishing industries. Initially a producer of fishmeal and fish protein hydrolysates, COPALIS diversified its activity at the end of the 90s with the development of new technologies (fractionation and isolation of peptides) and asserted itself in the development of marine bioactives.
With now more than 100 employees, COPALIS has become the global supplier of natural marine ingredients to the nutraceutical, functional food, animal nutrition and cosmetics markets.
Located in Europe’s leading fish processing, marketing and distribution centre, COPALIS is at the heart of the marine resource; its cooperative status also allows the company to control the traceability and origin of the raw material.
In 2020, COPALIS bought the company Valofish, specialized in the preparation of surimi base.
