The LOWTEV technology should enable significant water savings to be made for the agri-food industry and is made up of over 300,000 SME associations. LOWTEV II’s excellent project consortium includes both experts from the agri-food sector and ultra-sound cleaning and will demonstrate the effectiveness of the CIP cleaning technology which is carried out using ultrasounds and which is intended for use in the agri-food sector. This new technology developed within the framework of the LOWTEV project, « research for SMEs» project of the 7th PCRD (contract n° 222078), gave the following results during laboratory tests:
• 60 % saving in the consumption of water used for cleaning,
• 30 % saving in energy consumption,
• 20 % increase in productivity.

The use of our NEP LOWTEV technology for industrial conveyor belt production equipment  allows the consumption of water used for cleaning to be reduced by between 60 % to 80 % with a minimum reduction of 10% in overall water consumption. This is the equivalent of around a €30,000 saving in water and energy bills per factory per year. The return on investment is therefore estimated at around two years.

This project was labellised by the AQUIMER Pole of Competitiveness on the 26th November 2012.
