This project is concerned with the development of a pre-production industrial machine which would allow a fixed-weight product to be placed in a tray automatically. The aim is therefore to minimise and loss of raw materials as much as possible and also to reduce the drudgery of manual operations which involve filling fixed-weight trays at a sustained and prolonged rate, whilst avoiding over-handling of the raw material which is very fragile from the aesthetic (fragile texture) and microbiological points of view.

The technology used to carry this out is robotics. This is used in conjunction with an electronic weight measuring device on the end of the arm of the robot, a gripping tool and a surrounding ?transitic? suited to the products and the packaging which must first be gripped and then properly filled.

This project was labellised by the AQUIMER Pole of Competitiveness on the 25th November 2011.
