TRASEAPILOT

Back to list

The aquatic products sector is in the midst of restructuration due to economic constraints (cost of fuel?), environmental constraints (decrease in resources?), and regulatory constraints (electronic log book, European regulation 178/2002?).
In this context, companies must increase the value added of their products and improve their competitiveness. Traceability is one of the tools they can rely on to mark themselves out from the competition and provide the guarantees that the consumer expects.
Therefore, as early as 2006 the  AQUIMER Pole of Competitiveness embarked on a study of the  ?digitisation of traceability in the supply chain of the seafood products industry? within the framework of the TIC PME 2010, launched by the DGCIS. This enabled a general inventory of what already existed to be drawn up (audit of the sector and analysis of available software). An analysis of the processes was then carried out and computed  via a demonstrator in order to envisage the solutions to implement.
At the end of the project, a work group was formed with professional bodies from the sector (fishing, fish markets, fish traders, processing) and companies, in order to communicate the results to them. This work group agreed that a collaborative platform should be set up, which could then be a real centre for information and collaboration between all players from the industry.

The partners decided to set up a pilot in order to validate the specifications of the platform, the operational earnings and to highlight the points to look out for with a view to deployment.
The TRASEAPILOT  project therefore aims to develop a platform for the exchange of traceability data between players from the aquatic products sector with:
- the drawing up of its requirements (specifications, hosting and operation, translation, integration, generation?),
- validation of the processes (dispatch and receipt of goods as well as the processing of disputes) by pilot tests, of the operational earnings and the highlighting of the points to look out for with a view to deployment,
- the deployment of this platform.

This project was labellised by the AQUIMER Pole of Competitiveness on the 17th December, 2010.
