Whereas transport using containers allows for transporting several merchandise items, and reducing handling work at ports, the operations of loading and unloading containers remain accident-prone operations in the logistics branch.

In fact the large number of exporting countries, the optimization of space in containers, and the sizes of pallets that are incompatible with containers are many reasons that push shippers to load containers in bulk from floor to ceiling.

Moreover, unloading of frozen products faces an additional risk of slipping due to the temperature of the container and the presence of moisture.
Based on these observations, the project has the following targets:
- Identifying the causes of loss of ground adhesion in containers;
- Contributing an innovative solution for reducing the risk of slipping during operations of unloading by developing equipment that allows for adhesion to the ground in environments around -20°C, throughout the duration of the unloading operation.
