Within the framework of the reform of Common Fisheries Policy, fishing vessels will henceforth have to land all their catch. This regulatory development poses many questions, in particular for fleets catching a wide variety of species, such as the trawlers in the Eastern English Channel – North Sea.

The aim of the EODE project is to assess possible strategies and solutions in order to adapt to mandatory landing.

The project aims to set up a pilot experiment under mandatory landing conditions in order to assess its upstream and downstream impact on the industry and to look for solutions to limit the loss of turnover and the consequences for the latter. In particular, the project will focus on questions regarding the on board and shore management of unwanted catch: recording, checking, sorting, storage, landing, transport, processing,…
